No-Stress Side Hustles: Fatten Your Wallet without the Burnout

The Best Side Hustles for 2023 that may surprise you

There are hidden corners of the gig economy that haven't been saturated by freelancers. It can be tricky to find side hustle jobs that really make money. The most lucrative side hustles of 2023 are leaning toward creativity and human authenticity. While it's important to find the highest paying side hustles, it's also important to guard our energy and protect ourselves from burnout. So we put together a list of side hustles to do from your computer, at home, with flexible schedules for busy women.

Here are the side hustles we uncovered to make you money on your own time:

1. Fiverr Gigs You Didn't Know About

Fiverr is a great place for freelancers to find new clients. But it's not only for web designers and blog writers. There's a fascinating section of gigs under the Lifestyle category that has a wide range of services. Categories include: online tutoring, game coaching, astrology and psychics, styling and beauty, nutrition and wellness, and travel itinerary planning. For those freelancers worried about AI, never fear! There are now gigs that fact-check AI copy and content and use AI to create art for you. Fiverr is a freelancer's playground.

2. Sell printables

This side hustle is fully vetted by our Founder, Jamie Lou, who started her own Etsy page over the holidays to sell Christmas printables for kids. Her printables made over $1,600 in one month. Even if you're not the best designer, Canva has a ton of templates to get you started creating original printables to sell. The best part? You don't have to ship anything. When a customer buys one of your printables, they are guided to a link to download and print it from their computer. It's one of the easiest ways to make money in your sleep.

3. Pet sitting/dog walking

If you're an animal lover, pet sitting and dog walking can be a fun and rewarding side hustle. Many pet owners are always on the lookout for reliable and trustworthy people to take care of their pets when they're away. You can sign up with platforms like Rover (our personal fav), Wag, and to find pet-sitting and dog walking gigs in your area. You can set your own rates, choose the pets you want to sit, and set your own schedule. How She Shines canine intern and best friend, Hamilton, loves being in the comfort of someone's home over those cold, hard floors at dog boarding places.

4. Online tutoring

If you have a passion for teaching and are knowledgeable in a particular subject, online tutoring can be a great side hustle. With online tutoring, you can set your own hours, and you don't have to leave your home. Many platforms, such as Chegg, TutorMe, and Wyzant, allow you to sign up as a tutor and start earning money. You can also set your own rates and choose the subjects you want to teach.

5. Bio and social media writing

If you have a knack for writing and love scrolling on social media, this gig is perfect for you. While many companies may be turning to AI to write content for their blogs and websites, nothing beats that human touch. Every business, entrepreneur, and influencer needs compelling, authentic bios and social media posts that connect with their target audiences. While you can find freelance writing gigs on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer, you can also try a more personal approach. Find people on LinkedIn and offer to help them optimize their bios. Justin Welsh has a great course on optimizing LinkedIn pages here. You can sell posting packages, like a month's worth of LinkedIn post content for a set price, as well as optimized bios that get their profile the attention they seek. Once you get results for people on LinkedIn, ask them to recommend you to their friends for bios and social media writing. You'd be surprised how many brilliant business minds don't have the time or skills to write their own bios and social media content.

These unique side hustles can be a great way to supplement your income without the stress or exhaustion of many gigs out there. Remember, not all side hustles are created equal. It's essential to choose a side hustle that is both enjoyable and lucrative. The side hustles listed above are some of the best (and most creative) for 2023, as they offer flexibility, freedom, and the potential to earn a decent amount of money. The key to success with any side hustle is to be creative, efficient, and persistent. With the right approach, you can fatten your wallet while still having time to enjoy your life.
